EXPERIENCE
Steve originally trained and practiced as a loss adjuster in London, becoming the youngest ever qualified Chartered Adjuster by examination, in 1985.
Since arriving in Australia in 1988, Steve has held senior management and technical positions with Crawford and GAB Robins, including a role as Global Risks Manager for the Region. In May 2004, he started Technical Assessing Victoria, based in Melbourne.
Steve specialises in ISR, construction material damage and government claims. In particular, he is personally nominated on the worldwide programs of several major building contractors and on specific construction and infrastructure projects. He is also the preferred adjuster for certain government departments and/or their insurance programs.
International and Australian claims investigations conducted by Steve include several significant product recall/liability matters, cancellation of high profile sporting/artistic events, new road failures, the Port Arthur massacre and damage to Commonwealth Government property in Antarctica. He also receives regular instructions to assist in the quantification of litigated matters.
CURRENT FOCUS
Steve’s emphasis is consultancy on first or third party property matters requiring appropriate expertise, detailed analysis and diplomacy.

EXPERIENCE
Paul has 32 years experience as a loss adjuster, commencing in Melbourne in 1977. He has worked in Darwin, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart.In Darwin, Paul was responsible for the construction and engineering claims during the establishment of the Ranger Uranium Mine.
Over the last 20 years Paul has specialised in construction and engineering claims under both property and liability covers, handling losses involving high rise buildings, sewerage plants, ocean outfall pipelines, earthmoving and timber harvesting machinery and plant, tailings dams, wharfs, concrete and roads.
Paul has also investigated a large range of claims including professional indemnity claims involving architects, engineers, consultants and local government officers. He has also been involved in many major product liability and product recall claims.

Paul continues his focus on providing detailed analysis of circumstances, cause and quantum on all matters involving construction, engineering, public & products liability and professional indemnity.

EXPERIENCE
Terry joined Technical Assessing in 2008 as an Executive Loss Adjuster after 18 years Loss Adjusting and Claims Management experience. In his 15 years as an Executive Loss Adjuster, Terry was appointed to many major claims involving Property Damage and Business Interruption loss within the mining, construction and manufacturing industries. In addition, Terry’s finance background has enabled him to provide expert analysis for financial losses (Fidelity & Business Interruption) as well as losses involving significant stock values requiring reconciliation.
As a Senior Manager with GAB Robins, Terry was responsible for GAB’s catastrophe response to the significant widespread flood damage to Katherine, in Australia’s Northern Territory caused by tropical cyclone Les and also their response to the Longford Gas Plant explosion in 1998 that caused substantial business interruption claims. Personally Terry was appointed to many major losses arising from this event due to the failure of supply of gas to many manufacturing facilities in Victoria.
As a Claims Manager for Marsh, Terry has worked closely with many multi national companies including those from the mining and energy industries. Terry’s major claims experience has enabled him to provide expert advice and advocacy on major material damage and time element claims.
In addition Terry has acted as Claims Manager for the Captive Insurers of a number of multi national companies involved in the global mining industry. This has put Terry in contact with Senior Brokers, Risk Managers, Reinsurers and Business Managers.
Terry continues to provide expert and timely loss adjusting services on claims involving major property and business interruption losses with a focus on the Commercial, Industrial, Mining and Energy industries.

EXPERIENCE
A lifetime Loss Adjusting after a 7 year introduction to insurance claims.
Norm specialises in Public and Product Liability, Self Insurance & Claims Management, Class Actions, Risk Assessments and sensitive Corporate and Government issues. He has successfully investigated long tail claims of sexual assault and cancer/mesothelioma dating back into history, the oldest being over 60 years.
Many of the sensitive claims managed by Norm not only involved millions of dollars but critical relationships between the parties requiring the utmost tact and confidence.
Norm had a two year stint in Darwin post Cyclone Tracey and probably achieved the first ever non-litigated settlement of claims by indigenous Australians. On return to Melbourne Norm operated his own business with a number of employees for some 28 years before joining Technical Assessing. He has been on the Committee of the ANZIIF Liability Discussion Group for many years and represented his Professional body in governance issues.
Away from work Norm is an ardent 4 wheel driver undertaking many extended and remote trips throughout Australia, and Secretary of one of the major 4wd Clubs in Victoria.

EXPERIENCE
Allan joined Technical Assessing in 2009 after seven years of Loss Adjusting and Insurance Industry experience.
In the past five years Allan has worked as a Loss Adjuster specialising in Large Domestic Claims and Commercial Property and Stock Losses.
As a Loss Adjuster with GAB Robins, Allan worked on several Major Catastrophes including Melbourne Storms (December 2003), Cyclone Larry Innisfail (March 2006), Newcastle Floods (June 2007), Lismore Floods (October 2007).
Since joining Technical Assessing in February 2009, Allan’s focus has been on the development of Marine Surveying, with a focus on Commercial Cargo Losses.
Allan is working under the tutelage of a Senior Marine Surveyor and Executive Adjusters, as well as completing Marine Surveying studies with the Australian Maritime College (Diploma of Marine Surveying) and AIMS (Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors).

EXPERIENCE
Ian joined Technical Assessing in 2008 as a Specialist Liability Loss Adjuster after 30 years Loss Adjusting and Claims Management experience. After leaving Mercantile Mutual in 1986 as a Claims Manager and Assistant Fire Claims Manager (MMI Vic,) he commenced liability loss adjusting with N. A. Mclean & Associates. In 1994 he established Ian Storey & Associates Pty. Ltd. and from 2001 to 2008 was engaged by Freemans as a contractor, involved in major liability claims and part of the Major Loss Team (Liability.)
From 1988 to 2001 Ian was a Victorian Councillor for the Australian Institute of Loss Adjusters holding positions of Secretary, Vice President and Acting President. In 2001 he was a National Director of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters and remains a Victorian Councillor of the Institute. Ian has also held positions as a Director of the Maroondah Sporting Club Inc and delegate for the Ringwood & District Cricket Association, regarding his sporting interests.
In his 23 years as a Specialist Liability Loss Adjuster, Ian was appointed to many major claims involving liability issues including the recent Burnley Tunnel disaster and fire in the Safe Concordia Oil Maintenance Platform. Ian specialises in liability losses within the corporate world including relationships with large deductable clients, which includes Fulton Hogan and Leighton Constructions, who operate in the construction and civil engineering business. He has also been engaged by clients such as Coles Myer Ltd and Australian Safeway Stores.
As a former member of the Freemans Major Loss Team, Ian was involved in catastrophe management and was seconded to Cairns Queensland as part of the Cyclone Larry response team. As a former Claims Manager for MMI he was involved in the Ash Wednesday fire of 1982 for claims management of both domestic and commercial losses as well as liaising with the Emergency Response Loss Adjusting Team (covering all member underwriters.)
Ian has relationships with most major Underwriters and Broking Houses as well as associations with a range of Law Firms who provide liability services to the insurance industry in Victoria. He remains heavily involved in loss adjusting major liability matters as well as continuing involvement in insurance industry activities through the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.
